Oppo Reno10 Pro will switch to Snapdragon 778G, lower res display

The global variant of Oppo Reno10 Pro: Updated specs and features for international release.

The Oppo Reno10 Pro, which recently debuted in China, will undergo some changes before its release in the global market. According to leaked specifications shared by @Sudhanshu1414, a well-known source, the international version will feature a Snapdragon 778G processor instead of the Dimensity 8200 found in the Chinese variant.

The switch to the Snapdragon 778G is notable because the older Qualcomm chip lags behind the more recent MediaTek competitor in terms of CPU and GPU performance.

However, the revised global model will feature a slightly downgraded display compared to the Chinese version. It will sport a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,412 pixels, while the Chinese variant offers a higher resolution 6.74-inch display at 1,240 x 2,772 pixels. Both displays feature curved 120Hz 10-bit panels.

Other changes to the global Oppo Reno10 Pro include a reduction in RAM capacity from 16GB to 12GB (LPDDR4X), with the option to add 12GB of virtual RAM. The storage capacity will be fixed at 256GB, and the phone will come preloaded with Android 13.

In terms of battery, the global model will retain the same 4,600mAh capacity as the Chinese version. However, the SuperVOOC charger will have a lower wattage of 80W compared to the original 100W.

Although the camera island’s appearance may differ, the actual camera hardware remains unchanged. It will feature a 50MP main camera with a 1/1.56-inch sensor and 1.0µm pixel size, accompanied by an f/1.8 lens with optical image stabilization (OIS).

Additionally, there will be a 32MP telephoto lens with approximately 2x magnification (using the IMX709 sensor) and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 1/4-inch sensor and 1.12µm pixel size.

The front-facing camera will boast a high-resolution 32MP sensor. Notably, the global version does not appear to have the MariSilicon label on the back, indicating that it may have been omitted.

Interestingly, the leaked information suggests that the global Oppo Reno10 Pro will possess basic dust and water resistance with an IP54 rating, offering protection against dust and splashes of water. In contrast, the Chinese version does not have an official rating for water and dust resistance.

As of now, the pricing for the global Oppo Reno10 Pro has not been disclosed. Recent statements from Oppo indicate that the Reno10 series, along with Oppo Air3 Pro earbuds and various IoT gadgets, will launch in Europe in July.
