Government of Goa sign MoU for setting up R&D of Zen Technologies

This development follows Zen Technologies' recent success in securing a significant order worth Rs 100 crore from the Ministry of Defence for its advanced force-on-force tank training system.

Zen Technologies Limited, a leading provider of simulators for weapons and allied defense equipment, has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the government of Goa for the establishment of a state-of-the-art Research and Development (R&D) facility. This cutting-edge facility, set to be situated at the Electronic Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) Tuem in Goa, comes with an investment of Rs 50 crore and is anticipated to generate employment opportunities for around 800 individuals.

The primary focus of this new facility is to bolster Zen Technologies’ manufacturing capabilities, particularly in the domains of advanced simulators and drone-related technologies. The company envisions this initiative as a strategic move to enhance its operational landscape, fortifying its commitment to expansion.

In an official statement, Zen Technologies highlighted the significance of this facility, stating, “The new facility will serve as an anchor unit for the EMC, with plans to develop and source sub-assemblies from Goan micro, small and medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This symbiotic relationship is expected to boost the local economy and contribute to the overall development of the region.”

The establishment of this facility aligns with Zen Technologies’ broader strategy to diversify its manufacturing presence and ensure resilience in its business operations. The company anticipates that the facility will operate as a pivotal hub, supporting both domestic requirements and a measured expansion of its export business.

This development follows Zen Technologies’ recent success in securing a significant order worth Rs 100 crore from the Ministry of Defence for its advanced force-on-force tank training system. This innovative system allows tank units to engage in realistic training scenarios without the need for live ammunition.

Moreover, the company had previously received substantial orders in September, including a Rs 227.65 crore contract for anti-drone systems from the Ministry of Defence and an additional order worth Rs 202 crore, further underlining its prominence in the defense technology sector.

Zen Technologies Limited’s decision to establish a cutting-edge R&D facility in Goa signifies not only a proactive approach to business growth but also a commitment to technological advancement, job creation, and economic development in the region.
