For a long time, Apple has had a 'Move to iOS' software, which, as the name implies, allows any Android user to easily migrate to iOS. Now, it appears that Google will release its own software that would allow iOS users to 'Switch to Android,' as the name implies. The software, which has supposedly been in development for some time, is now available on the App Store as an unlisted link.
According to 9to5Google, which initially discovered the app, if you search for 'Switch to Android,' you will not see the link. For individuals who want to download the app directly, there is a direct link accessible. We were also able to get it through the website, which may be found here.
Last year, 9to5Google announced that it was working on such an app, and it appears that the soft launch has now occurred. We'll have to wait and see whether Google decides to release the entire version. We were also able to get the app to work on an iPhone 12 Pro Max.
When you first start the software, it says that you'll be able to migrate all of your photographs, movies, and contacts to your Android device safely. Before proceeding, users must agree on the terms and conditions. Users must then scan the QR code that appears on the Android phone during setup. On Android, that is currently not an option. According to screenshots shared on the App Store, the following step in the setup allows users to choose which data they want to be transferred.
Contacts, Calendar Events, Photos, and Videos are among the possibilities. It's worth noting that only images saved locally on your iPhone will be transferred to your new Android device. Media that is kept on iCloud, which is the case for the vast majority of iOS users, gets duplicated later, with different instructions.
The program also reminds users to turn off iMessage and turn on Text messaging after they switch to Android. Users can copy their iCloud photographs and videos to Google Photos by filing a transfer request and then following the steps, as shown in step four of the screenshot.
Google is likely to provide more information about the process once the app is officially released.
