Goa is gearing up to establish itself as a prominent hub for Android technology by the year 2026, with the government introducing a slew of initiatives to bolster support for startups in the state, according to a statement by Minister Rohan Khaunte.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the three-day-long Tech Media Startup 2023 event, Khaunte emphasized the government’s commitment to nurturing startup creativity and positioning Goa as a leading destination for startups in Asia. “Goa, with its vibrant spirit, is on the cusp of becoming a breeding ground for startup innovation,” he remarked.
Highlighting the state’s unique blend of natural beauty, cultural heritage, and entrepreneurial spirit, Khaunte underscored the potential for Goa to emerge as a hotspot for the convergence of startups and Android technology. He expressed confidence that Goa’s ecosystem, supported by government initiatives and a thriving startup community, is poised to transform into a global hub for technology-driven entrepreneurship.
In line with this vision, Khaunte outlined plans to roll out a spectrum of initiatives aimed at catalyzing business growth and providing startups with the necessary support. He emphasized the government’s focus on bridging the gap between academia and industry through strategic partnerships with key players across various sectors. These collaborations, he noted, would facilitate internships and placements for students, equipping them with practical experience to tackle professional challenges in the technology sector.
