But just as the market seemed to be hitting new heights, a fresh leak has hinted at something even more groundbreaking in the works.
Well-known tech insider Yogesh Brar has hinted that three upcoming Pro-level smartphones are set to feature battery capacities that go far beyond what we have seen before. According to the leak, these handsets will come equipped with 6,300mAh, 6,500mAh, and a massive 7,550mAh battery.
This is an eye-catching development, especially considering that in recent years the 5,000mAh benchmark was regarded as the gold standard for flagship devices.
A jump to over 7,500mAh feels almost futuristic and could mark the beginning of a new era in mobile endurance, with longer screen-on times, fewer charging cycles, and a true shift in the way users experience their smartphones.
While Brar didn’t explicitly reveal which phones these batteries will power, he left a clue at the end of his post: the letters X, V, and O. Industry watchers are confident this points to Xiaomi, Vivo, and Oppo, which are all expected to launch their next Pro-level flagships later this year.
If the battery figures align with the leaked list, it is likely the successor to the Oppo Find X8 Pro will be the device boasting the massive 7,550mAh upgrade, a feature that could make it one of the most desirable Android phones in 2025.
There are, however, questions about global availability. Larger batteries often run into regulatory restrictions when it comes to shipping devices internationally, particularly to regions like the UK and Europe. This has historically resulted in smaller battery variants being offered in some markets, leaving buyers outside Asia with slightly less impressive specifications.
Still, the idea of mainstream flagship phones shipping with battery capacities north of 7,000mAh is exciting. For heavy users, gamers, and professionals who rely on their devices all day, this could be the game-changing update that makes constant charging a thing of the past.
