Vivo X500 FE and V80 FE Receive More Certifications Ahead of Global Launch
Here is everything we know about the two upcoming Vivo smartphones.

Vivo appears to be preparing two more smartphones for international markets, with the Vivo X500 FE and Vivo V80 FE receiving additional regulatory certifications ahead of their expected launches. While the latest listings do not reveal many new hardware details, they suggest that both devices are moving closer to wider availability.
The Vivo X500 FE has appeared in certification databases across multiple markets, including Singapore and Indonesia. Meanwhile, the Vivo V80 FE has received approval in Thailand, adding to its growing list of international certifications.
The two smartphones are at different stages of preparation. The X500 FE remains largely a mystery in terms of its specifications, while Vivo has already revealed much of the V80 FE’s hardware through its official Philippines website.
Here is everything we know about the two upcoming Vivo smartphones.
Vivo X500 FE Receives Singapore IMDA Certification
The Vivo X500 FE has appeared on Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) certification database with the model number V2653.
The listing identifies the device as a 5G mobile phone and confirms support for several connectivity options, including WLAN, Bluetooth and NFC.
However, the certification does not reveal its processor, display, camera specifications, battery capacity or charging speed.
This is not the first time the smartphone has appeared in regulatory databases. The same V2653 model number has previously been spotted on Indonesia’s TKDN certification platform and Europe’s EEC database.
An IMEI database in Türkiye has also associated two model numbers, V2653 and V2654, with the Vivo X500 FE. These could represent different regional variants of the upcoming smartphone.
The growing number of certifications suggests that Vivo is preparing the device for markets beyond China.
However, the company has not officially announced the X500 FE or confirmed its launch schedule.
Vivo X500 FE Expected Specifications
Although the latest certification does not reveal hardware details, earlier leaks have provided some indications of what Vivo could offer with the X500 FE.
The smartphone is rumoured to feature a 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Its compact screen size could make it an interesting option for users who prefer smaller flagship-style smartphones.
Under the hood, the device is tipped to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset.
If accurate, this would position the X500 FE as a performance-focused compact smartphone, potentially offering flagship-level processing capabilities without moving to a much larger display.
The reported battery capacity is 6,500mAh, with support for 90W wired charging and 40W wireless charging. A 50MP front-facing camera is also expected.
The leaked rear camera configuration includes:
- 50MP Sony IMX921 primary camera with optical image stabilisation
- 50MP Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto camera
- 8MP ultra-wide camera
The inclusion of a periscope telephoto camera could be particularly interesting for a compact smartphone, as it would provide additional flexibility for zoom photography.
However, these specifications remain unconfirmed. Vivo has not published an official product page or specification sheet for the X500 FE.
Vivo V80 FE Receives Thailand NBTC Approval
The Vivo V80 FE has also received another important certification, this time from Thailand’s National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC).
The smartphone carries the model number V2624 in the Thai certification database.
The approval confirms that the device is being prepared for the Thai market, although the listing itself does not provide detailed hardware specifications.
The V80 FE has already appeared on several other regulatory platforms, including India’s BIS certification database, Malaysia’s SIRIM platform, Bluetooth SIG and Indonesia’s SDPPI and TKDN databases.
These approvals suggest that Vivo is preparing a wider international rollout rather than limiting the smartphone to the Philippines.
Its appearance on India’s BIS database is particularly relevant for Indian buyers, as it indicates that the company is taking steps towards regulatory approval in the country.
However, BIS certification alone does not confirm an official Indian launch date or retail pricing.
Vivo V80 FE Specifications Already Revealed
Unlike the X500 FE, the Vivo V80 FE has already appeared on Vivo’s official Philippines website, revealing most of its key specifications and design.
The smartphone is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7400-Turbo chipset, paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
It features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
On the software side, the V80 FE runs OriginOS 7 based on Android 17.
One of its biggest highlights is the large 7,000mAh battery, supported by 90W wired charging. This combination should make the phone appealing to users who prioritise battery capacity and faster charging.
The device also comes with IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
Vivo is offering the smartphone in two colour options: Chill Green and Sparkling Gold.
Triple 50MP Zeiss Camera Setup on the Vivo V80 FE
The camera system is another major feature of the Vivo V80 FE.
The smartphone features a triple 50MP camera arrangement across its front and rear, with Zeiss branding included in the camera experience.
The rear setup consists of a 50MP primary camera with optical image stabilisation and a 50MP ultra-wide camera with autofocus.
On the front, the device gets a 50MP selfie camera with autofocus.
Both the front and rear cameras support 4K video recording, which could make the smartphone appealing to users who regularly capture videos and selfies.
The addition of autofocus to the ultra-wide and selfie cameras is also useful, particularly for close-up photography and group shots.
However, the move to a 50MP primary camera is an interesting change compared with the previous generation.
Vivo V80 FE vs V70 FE: What Has Changed?
The Vivo V80 FE introduces several hardware changes compared with the V70 FE.
One of the biggest differences is the processor. The newer model uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7400-Turbo, replacing the Dimensity 7360-Turbo found in the V70 FE.
The camera configuration has also changed considerably. While the V70 FE featured a 200MP main camera, the V80 FE switches to a 50MP primary sensor with optical image stabilisation.
The newer model also introduces a 50MP ultra-wide camera with autofocus and a 50MP selfie camera with autofocus.
The display is slightly smaller, moving from 6.83 inches on the V70 FE to 6.59 inches on the V80 FE.
Battery capacity and charging speeds remain unchanged at 7,000mAh and 90W respectively.
Another design difference is the rear construction. The V80 FE uses a glass back, replacing the plastic composite finish of its predecessor.
| Feature | Vivo V70 FE | Vivo V80 FE |
|---|---|---|
| Processor | Dimensity 7360-Turbo | Dimensity 7400-Turbo |
| Main camera | 200MP | 50MP with OIS |
| Ultra-wide camera | Previous-generation setup | 50MP with autofocus |
| Selfie camera | Previous-generation setup | 50MP with autofocus |
| Display | 6.83-inch | 6.59-inch |
| Battery | 7,000mAh | 7,000mAh |
| Charging | 90W | 90W |
| Rear material | Plastic composite | Glass |
The changes make the V80 FE a different proposition rather than a straightforward upgrade in every department. Users who prioritise a high-resolution main camera or a larger display may still find the V70 FE appealing.
Vivo X500 FE and V80 FE Could Launch in More Markets Soon
The latest certifications suggest that Vivo is preparing both smartphones for wider international availability.
The X500 FE has appeared in certification databases associated with Singapore, Indonesia and Europe, while the V80 FE has received approvals in Thailand, Malaysia, India and Indonesia.
The V80 FE’s official Philippines product listing also indicates that the device is further along in its launch preparations.
For Indian buyers, the BIS certification of the V80 FE is an encouraging development. It suggests that Vivo is preparing the device for the Indian market, although the company has not announced an official launch date.
The X500 FE’s international certifications also raise the possibility of a wider release, but its Indian availability remains unconfirmed.
Pricing information for both smartphones is still unavailable through official announcements.
Final Thoughts
The Vivo X500 FE and V80 FE are getting closer to wider availability, with both smartphones appearing in additional certification databases.
The X500 FE looks particularly interesting on paper, with rumours pointing towards a compact 120Hz LTPO AMOLED display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, 6,500mAh battery and a periscope telephoto camera.
Meanwhile, the V80 FE already has a more complete specification sheet, including a Dimensity 7400-Turbo processor, 7,000mAh battery, 90W charging and a triple 50MP camera arrangement.
The V80 FE’s BIS certification is also worth watching for Indian consumers, although an official India launch has not yet been announced.
For now, Vivo has not confirmed the launch dates or pricing of either device. More information should become available as the company moves closer to their official introductions.
