Redmi 12’s specs, renders, and retail box surface

Unveiling the specs, design, and pricing of Xiaomi's upcoming smartphone.

Xiaomi’s sub-brand, Redmi, created quite a buzz with the release of the Helio G85-powered Redmi 12C last year. Now, eager fans are anticipating the arrival of the vanilla Redmi 12.

Although the launch date has not been officially announced, the Portuguese division of the company accidentally listed the smartphone on its website, unintentionally unveiling its specifications, design, and price.

Although the listing has been removed, thanks to Twitter user @kacskrz and German blog WinFuture, we now have a clear understanding of what the Redmi 12 has to offer.

The Redmi 12 will feature a spacious 6.79-inch Full HD+ LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a centrally placed punch-hole housing an 8MP selfie camera.

On the rear, users can expect a triple camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro/depth sensor.

Under the hood, the super feature packed Android smartphone will be powered by the Helio G88 chipset, accompanied by either 4GB or 8GB of RAM.

It will offer generous storage options of 128GB or 256GB, expandable up to a staggering 1TB via a microSD card.

To keep the device running, a robust 5,000 mAh battery will be included, supporting 18W fast charging through its USB-C port (despite earlier rumors suggesting 33W charging).

Notable features of the Redmi 12 include an IP53 rating for water and dust resistance, NFC support, an IR Blaster, and Bluetooth 5.3. The smartphone will measure 8.17mm in thickness and weigh approximately 198.5g.

The Redmi 12 is expected to be available in multiple color options, with a starting price of €199.

However, Xiaomi Portugal’s website unintentionally revealed a slightly higher price of €209.99.

It is likely that the €199 price tag will be attributed to the base model featuring 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
