OPPO Find X10 Pro Max Review: A Camera Phone That Thinks Bigger

The most interesting part of the Find X10 Pro Max is not necessarily its main camera. It is the decision to give the ultrawide camera the same headline resolution as the other two rear shooters.

Most smartphone cameras have a clear hierarchy. The main camera gets the best sensor, the zoom lens comes next, and the ultrawide often receives whatever hardware fits the remaining budget.

The OPPO Find X10 Pro Max takes a different route. It equips all three rear cameras with 200MP sensors, turning photography into the defining feature of a phone that also packs a powerful new processor, a high-refresh-rate screen and a massive battery.

But this is not simply a megapixel contest. After reviewing the phone, the bigger question is whether OPPO has created a genuinely better camera experience or just an expensive flagship with an impressive specification sheet.

The Ultrawide Camera Finally Gets the Attention It Deserves

The most interesting part of the Find X10 Pro Max is not necessarily its main camera. It is the decision to give the ultrawide camera the same headline resolution as the other two rear shooters.

The 200MP main camera uses a large 1/1.3-inch sensor, while the 200MP telephoto and ultrawide cameras use Samsung ISOCELL HP5 sensors. Together, they give the phone an unusually consistent camera setup across different shooting perspectives.

That consistency matters when moving between a wide landscape, a standard photograph and a zoomed-in portrait. The ultrawide camera delivers particularly impressive results, including strong detail and dependable low-light performance.

Video is another area where OPPO makes a convincing case. The phone supports 4K recording at up to 120fps and 8K at 30fps, with Dolby Vision and LOG options for users who want more flexibility when editing footage.

For serious zoom enthusiasts, an optional Hasselblad teleconverter kit extends the 3x telephoto camera to approximately 10x optical zoom. It is an unusual accessory that makes the phone more versatile, although most buyers will need to decide whether the additional expense and bulk are worthwhile.

A Flagship That Looks Refined Rather Than Flashy

Despite the substantial camera hardware, OPPO has avoided making the Find X10 Pro Max look unnecessarily aggressive.

Its aluminium frame, matte glass back and carefully designed camera island create a premium appearance. The phone measures 8.4mm thick and weighs around 233g, so it is not a lightweight device, but the build quality helps justify its flagship positioning.

The 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display is another major strength. With a 144Hz refresh rate, 1272 × 2772 resolution, Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support, it is designed for people who spend considerable time watching videos, gaming or browsing.

OPPO also advertises peak brightness of up to 3,600 nits under specific conditions. Independent testing is more useful for judging everyday visibility, but the panel offers plenty of high-end display technology on paper.

IP66, IP68 and IP69 protection ratings add reassurance against dust and water exposure. The result is a device that combines camera-focused engineering with the durability expected from an expensive everyday phone.

The Dimensity 9600 Pro Has Something to Prove

The Find X10 Pro Max introduces MediaTek’s Dimensity 9600 Pro, built on a 2nm process and paired with up to 16GB of RAM.

The chipset delivers strong overall performance and impressive results in demanding graphics tests, including advanced ray-tracing workloads. It is a substantial foundation for gaming, photography processing and the AI features built into the phone.

However, it does not win every benchmark. Some CPU-heavy workloads still favour competing phones powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

That distinction is worth considering, but benchmark rankings rarely tell the whole story. For most people, sustained performance, thermal management and consistent responsiveness matter more than a single synthetic score.

The software experience is also changing. ColorOS 17, based on Android 17, introduces a more fluid visual design, translucent effects and smoother animations. OPPO promises five major Android updates and six years of security patches.

Its AI Agent combines services including Gemini, Perplexity and ChatGPT, while AI Mind Space can collect and organize screenshots, notes, media and text. These tools could prove useful beyond the initial novelty, particularly for users who regularly manage large amounts of information.

The Battery Has a Regional Catch

Battery capacity is one of the phone’s biggest selling points, but the version you buy matters.

The global model reviewed by GSMArena has an 8,000mAh battery, while the European version is equipped with a smaller 7,150mAh unit. The European capacity is actually lower than the 7,500mAh battery in the previous Find X9 Pro.

The larger global battery delivers exceptional endurance, helping the phone stand out among premium flagships. That extra capacity is particularly useful for people who frequently use the camera, record video or spend hours on mobile data.

Charging is less impressive by comparison. The phone supports 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, which remain convenient options but do not represent a dramatic leap forward.

European buyers should also remember that a charging adapter is not included in the retail box. It is a small detail for a device at this price, but one that affects the overall purchase experience.

The Price Is the Hardest Feature to Ignore

The Find X10 Pro Max starts at around €1,699 for the global 512GB model, with European pricing and configurations varying by market. That puts it firmly in premium flagship territory.

At this level, buyers can also consider the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, Xiaomi 17 Ultra and last year’s OPPO Find X9 Pro. Each offers a different balance of camera capability, software support and value.

The Find X10 Pro Max has a particularly strong case for photography enthusiasts. Its triple 200MP system, impressive ultrawide performance and optional teleconverter give it capabilities that are difficult to dismiss.

Still, its speakers are not as impressive as its display, charging could be faster, and the European battery reduction is disappointing. Those shortcomings are easier to accept on a cheaper phone than on one costing well over €1,500.

Final Verdict

The OPPO Find X10 Pro Max is a camera-focused flagship that backs up its ambitions with capable hardware. Its most important achievement is not simply putting three 200MP sensors on the back, but delivering a versatile photography system that performs strongly across different shooting situations.

Exceptional battery endurance on the global model, a bright 144Hz display and a premium build make it an excellent all-rounder as well.

Yet this is a phone for a specific kind of buyer. If photography and video are central to how you use your smartphone, the price may be easier to justify. If you mainly browse social media, stream content and send messages, a less expensive flagship could deliver most of what you need.

OPPO has built an impressive device, but its true value depends on how much you will use the camera system that sets it apart.
