vivo V80 and X Fold6 Go on Sale in India With Big Batteries and Flagship Cameras

The vivo V80 is available in three configurations, all featuring 8GB of RAM.

One phone is designed for people who want excellent cameras and long battery life without entering the ultra-premium price bracket. The other unfolds into a massive screen and packs flagship hardware into a device that costs more than ₹2 lakh.

Now, both are officially available to buy in India. vivo has started selling the vivo V80 and vivo X Fold6, giving buyers two very different ways to experience its latest smartphone technology.

The sale began on October 13, following the phones’ Indian launch last week. Both devices are available through vivo’s official online store, Amazon India, Flipkart and partner retail stores.

While the V80 targets buyers looking for a premium smartphone with photography features and substantial battery capacity, the X Fold6 is aimed at users who want a high-end foldable with productivity tools, powerful cameras and a large internal display.

The pricing and specifications make the differences between these two phones particularly clear.

vivo V80 Starts at ₹62,999

The vivo V80 is available in three configurations, all featuring 8GB of RAM. The entry-level model with 128GB of storage costs ₹62,999, while the 256GB version is priced at ₹69,999. Buyers who need more space can choose the 512GB model for ₹79,999.

The smartphone comes in three colours: Sunrise Anthem, Horizon Blue and Stellar Black.

At these prices, vivo is positioning the V80 in the premium mid-range segment, where buyers increasingly expect capable cameras, smooth displays, strong battery life and polished software rather than simply fast processors.

The V80’s most notable feature is its camera setup, developed with ZEISS. The phone combines a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP telephoto camera and an 8MP ultrawide camera on the rear. A 50MP front camera handles selfies and video calls.

The dedicated telephoto camera is particularly useful for portraits and distant subjects because it provides an alternative to relying entirely on digital zoom. However, the overall photography experience will still depend on image processing, lighting and how consistently the cameras perform across different conditions.

A 144Hz AMOLED Display and Snapdragon Processor

The vivo V80 features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The high refresh rate is designed to make scrolling, animations and supported games look smoother than they would on a conventional 60Hz screen.

Powering the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor. It is intended to deliver a balanced combination of everyday performance and efficiency, making the phone suitable for multitasking, social media, photography, streaming and casual gaming.

The V80 also includes a substantial 7,200mAh battery, which is one of its biggest selling points. Combined with 90W wired charging, the large battery should appeal to people who want to spend less time searching for a charger throughout the day.

The phone runs OriginOS 7 based on Android 17. Its software experience is another important part of the package, especially for users who want modern Android features alongside vivo’s camera and productivity tools.

vivo X Fold6 Costs ₹2,19,999

The vivo X Fold6 sits in an entirely different category. The foldable smartphone is available in India in a single configuration with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, priced at ₹2,19,999.

Buyers can choose between Nebula Teal and Prism Black.

That price places the X Fold6 firmly in the ultra-premium smartphone segment. Instead of competing with conventional phones on price alone, it aims to justify its cost through a folding display, flagship specifications, advanced photography and features designed to make multitasking more convenient.

The phone is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 Super chipset and runs OriginOS 7 Fold based on Android 17.

Its 8.02-inch internal folding display provides a much larger workspace than a regular smartphone screen. When folded, users can interact with a 6.51-inch cover display without opening the device.

Both displays support a 120Hz refresh rate, giving users a smooth experience whether they are using the phone in its compact form or opening it for a larger viewing area.

A 200MP ZEISS Camera Leads the X Fold6

The X Fold6 also places considerable emphasis on photography.

Its rear camera system includes a 200MP main camera with optical image stabilisation, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with optical image stabilisation and 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide camera with autofocus.

The combination gives users dedicated options for standard photography, zoomed-in shots and wider scenes. Two 20MP front-facing cameras are also included, with one positioned for each display.

Beyond the cameras, the foldable packs a 6,900mAh battery, which vivo identifies as the largest battery in India’s foldable smartphone category. It supports 80W wired charging and 40W wireless charging.

The battery capacity is particularly noteworthy because foldable phones have to accommodate two displays and a more complex internal design. A larger battery could help users who frequently switch between productivity tasks, video playback and multitasking.

The device also carries IP58 and IP59 ratings, along with additional water-resistance certifications listed by vivo. These ratings offer protection under specified testing conditions, although they should not be interpreted as a guarantee against every type of liquid damage.

Launch Offers Make the Foldable More Accessible

Despite its premium price, vivo is offering several incentives for buyers considering the X Fold6.

Eligible customers can receive instant cashback of up to ₹26,400 through selected banks. The company is also offering exchange benefits, no-cost EMI options of up to 24 months on eligible online purchases and three months of Google AI Pro at no additional cost.

The exact benefit depends on the payment method, retailer and eligibility conditions, so buyers should check the terms before completing a purchase.

These offers could make a meaningful difference for customers already planning to buy a premium foldable. However, the device remains a major investment even after discounts, and buyers should consider whether they will genuinely use its large internal screen and multitasking features.

Which vivo Phone Makes More Sense?

The V80 and X Fold6 serve very different audiences.

The V80 is the more practical choice for buyers who prioritise cameras, a high-refresh-rate display and a large battery while keeping their budget below ₹80,000. Its conventional design also means users do not have to adjust to the handling and care considerations associated with a foldable phone.

The X Fold6, meanwhile, is aimed at people who want a phone that can double as a larger workspace. Its folding display, flagship processor, 200MP camera and wireless charging support make it a more feature-packed option, but its price is considerably higher.

For users who regularly work across multiple applications, read documents, edit content or consume media on a larger screen, the foldable design could provide genuine benefits. For everyone else, a conventional smartphone may deliver better value.

Both Phones Are Now Available in India

With the sale officially underway, Indian buyers no longer need to wait to purchase either device. The vivo V80 starts at ₹62,999, while the X Fold6 costs ₹2,19,999 for its sole 12GB RAM and 512GB storage configuration.

The V80 focuses on camera versatility and battery endurance at a comparatively accessible price. The X Fold6 takes a more ambitious approach, combining a large folding display, flagship performance and advanced imaging in a premium package.

Ultimately, the choice comes down to what buyers value most. Those looking for a capable everyday phone may find the V80 the more sensible option, while users who want the flexibility of a large screen in a pocketable device may see the X Fold6 as a compelling upgrade.
