vivo X Fold6 Lands in India With a Massive Battery and 200MP Camera

The camera system is another major selling point.

Foldable phones have always asked buyers to compromise somewhere, whether it is battery life, camera performance, durability or sheer price. vivo is trying to change that equation with its newest foldable. The vivo X Fold6 has officially arrived in India with a flagship MediaTek processor, a 200MP ZEISS camera, a large 6,900mAh battery and a book-style design built around productivity and multitasking.

The phone has launched in India at ₹2,19,999 for the sole configuration with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Pre-bookings have started, while open sales are scheduled to begin on October 13 through vivo’s online store, Amazon, Flipkart and partner retail stores.

A Foldable Designed Around a Large Screen

The centerpiece of the X Fold6 is its 8.02-inch inner LTPO AMOLED display. It offers a 2312 x 2504 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits.

When the phone is folded, users get a 6.51-inch cover display with a 1120 x 2528 resolution. The outer screen also uses LTPO AMOLED technology and supports a 120Hz refresh rate, meaning users do not have to open the phone for everyday tasks such as messaging, browsing or checking notifications.

This two-screen approach gives the X Fold6 the flexibility expected from a modern book-style foldable while keeping the outer display useful as a conventional smartphone screen.

Dimensity 9500 Super Powers the Foldable

Underneath the displays, vivo has equipped the X Fold6 with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 Super chipset.

The processor is paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage in the Indian version. That gives the phone a high-end hardware foundation designed to handle demanding applications, multitasking and productivity workloads.

The software side is also receiving attention. The X Fold6 runs OriginOS 7 Fold based on Android 17, with vivo positioning the foldable as a device for more than simply consuming content.

Its foldable interface supports productivity-focused features, including tools for working with multiple applications and managing tasks across the larger internal screen.

A 200MP ZEISS Camera Leads the Way

The camera system is another major selling point.

The X Fold6 features a triple rear camera setup led by a 200MP ZEISS main camera with optical image stabilization. It is accompanied by a 50MP ultrawide camera and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with optical stabilization and 3x optical zoom.

vivo has worked with ZEISS on the imaging system, bringing the company’s camera expertise to a foldable form factor.

The phone also includes a 20MP selfie camera on both the inner and outer displays. That means users can take selfies without having to open the phone, while the internal camera remains available when using the larger screen.

One of the Biggest Foldable Batteries

Battery capacity is arguably one of the most interesting parts of the X Fold6.

The Indian model packs a 6,900mAh battery, which vivo describes as the largest battery available in a foldable sold in India. The battery supports 80W wired charging and 40W wireless charging.

For a device with two displays and flagship-level hardware, the larger battery could be particularly useful for users who spend long periods browsing, streaming, gaming or working on the phone.

The combination of high capacity and fast charging also addresses one of the common concerns surrounding large foldable devices: having enough power to get through an intensive day.

Built to Handle Everyday Risks

The X Fold6 also brings protection against dust and water, with IP58 and IP59 ratings reported for the global version.

Its construction combines a metal frame with glass elements, while the overall design remains close to the previous generation. The camera module remains a prominent feature on the rear, giving the phone a distinctive flagship appearance.

In India, the X Fold6 is offered in two finishes: Nebula Teal and Prism Black.

Price and Availability in India

The vivo X Fold6 is priced at ₹2,19,999 in India and comes in a single configuration with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage.

Pre-bookings begin on October 6, while sales start on October 13, 2026 through the vivo India e-store, Flipkart, Amazon and partner retail stores.

vivo is also offering several launch benefits, including eligible instant cashback, exchange bonuses and financing options. Buyers can additionally receive three months of Google AI Pro at no additional cost under the launch offers.

A Foldable That Wants to Do More

The vivo X Fold6 is clearly being positioned as more than an expensive phone that happens to fold.

Its 8.02-inch internal display gives users a larger workspace, while the Dimensity 9500 Super provides flagship processing power. The 200MP ZEISS camera system targets photography enthusiasts, and the 6,900mAh battery addresses one of the biggest practical concerns with powerful foldables.

At ₹2,19,999, however, the X Fold6 remains firmly in the premium category. Buyers are paying for the combination of a large foldable display, flagship hardware, advanced cameras and a substantial battery rather than simply buying another high-end smartphone.

The X Fold6 therefore enters the Indian market with a clear proposition: a foldable that tries to eliminate as many compromises as possible. Whether its combination of performance, cameras, battery life and productivity features is enough to justify the price will ultimately determine how strongly it competes against other premium foldables in India.
