Earlier this month, Tecno launched the Camon 20 series, featuring a standout camera setup. The flagship model, Tecno Camon 20 Premiere, showcases the capabilities of Tecno’s imaging technology called “Ultimage,” which combines advanced image sensors and AI features.
The Camon 20 Premiere incorporates RGBW camera sensors, a technology that Tecno has been developing for the past few years. By replacing one green subpixel with a white subpixel, the light transmittance is enhanced.
Additionally, the lens array (1G+6P) includes a glass element to further improve image quality. The sensor size has also been increased from 1/1.73″ to 1/1.56″, resulting in larger pixels (from 0.8µm to 1.0µm) and a 56.25% increase in light gathering area.
To combat shaky hands and other unwanted movements, the Camon 20 Premiere utilizes sensor-shift image stabilization, where the sensor makes rapid adjustments 5,000 times per second. This ensures sharper images even in low-light conditions.
The camera’s raw output is processed by the “Portrait Master Algorithm,” which has been trained on 50 million photos of people with diverse skin tones.
This algorithm enables users to capture stunning portraits effortlessly, earning the title of “one shot perfect photo” from Tecno.
Notably, the Tecno Camon 20 Premiere features an intriguing camera setup. The main camera boasts a 50MP RGBW sensor, while the ultra-wide module offers an impressive 108MP sensor behind a 115° lens, making it the highest-resolution ultra-wide camera currently available.
In addition to the camera advancements, Tecno made another significant announcement. They revealed that the Camon 20 series will be among the first devices to receive an update to Android 14, even though the phones initially come with Android 13.
The Tecno Camon 20 Premier is a 5G-enabled smartphone with impressive features. It boasts a large 6.9-inch display for an immersive viewing experience.
