Bada OS
Bada OS is a proprietary operating system specifically designed for smartphones. It was developed by Samsung and was first introduced in 2009. The debut Bada phone, known as the Samsung Wave, was subsequently released in 2010.
Initially, Samsung employed Bada OS in conjunction with other operating systems like Android OS and Windows Phone.
However, in 2012, Samsung discreetly discontinued the development of new smartphones utilizing Bada OS, primarily favoring the widespread adoption of the Android OS.
Samsung adopts a consistent branding strategy for its devices, wherein all Bada-powered devices are marketed under the Wave brand name. This naming convention parallels the Galaxy brand name used for their Android-based devices.
While Bada OS had a notable presence during its early years, Samsung’s decision to focus primarily on Android OS reflects the increasing popularity and market demand for Android-powered smartphones.
