The Samsung Galaxy M55, which made its debut in India last month, is now expanding its availability to a global audience. Fans worldwide can now get their hands on this latest offering from Samsung, as the device has been launched in Europe and South America.
In Europe, the Galaxy M55 is already up for grabs through Samsung Portugal, offering two configurations: an 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant priced at €500, and an 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model priced at €550. Notably, this puts it in direct competition with the Galaxy A55, which is currently priced at €500 (or €480 on sale) for the 8/128GB version. However, there are significant differences between the two models.
Additionally, the Galaxy M55 is also available in Switzerland through a third-party retailer, Mobile Device, offering the 128GB variant for CHF 392.
In South America, Samsung Brazil is offering the 256GB variant of the Galaxy M55 for BRL 2,700, while Samsung Peru has priced it at PEN 1,700. In Chile, the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model is available for CLP 450,000.
Comparing the Galaxy M55 with its A-series counterpart, the A55, reveals differences in both features and pricing. While the A55 boasts a more premium build and a superior chipset, the M55 offers unique features that set it apart.
Noteworthy highlights of the Galaxy M55 include its Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, support for 45W wired charging (a first for non-flagship Samsung devices), and an impressive 50MP selfie camera. The device also sports a 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz display and a versatile camera setup on the back, featuring a 50MP main sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor.
However, it’s worth noting that the Galaxy M55 does not come with IP dust and water resistance ratings like the A55, and details about its screen glass remain undisclosed. Nonetheless, with its array of standout features, the Galaxy M55 presents an attractive option for consumers seeking a balance of performance and affordability in a smartphone.
